Some songs tell a story. Groove in the Heart tells a lifetime of memories.

This track is my love letter to the music that shaped my youth. It takes me back to the mornings when I would wake up, slide a cassette into my tape player, and let the soundtrack of the day begin. Every song opened a new world, every melody sparked another dream.

Growing up in Czechoslovakia and later arriving in the United States in the summer of 1990, MTV became my window into a completely different universe. Michael Jackson, George Michael, Sade, Prince, Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Captain Hollywood Project, Poison, Duran Duran, Deee-Lite, and so many others weren’t just artists—they became part of the soundtrack of my life.

The song also brings back memories of the Fantasy Club in Košice, where teenage excitement, first dances, first crushes, and endless dreams all blended into one unforgettable era. Looking back now, I realize it wasn’t just about the music—it was about how those songs became milestones that marked every chapter of growing up.

Groove in the Heart is a celebration of the golden age of cassettes, MTV, dance floors, and discovering who we were through the music we loved. Every reference in the lyrics represents a memory, a feeling, or a moment that helped shape the artist I would eventually become.

Some memories fade.

The soundtrack never does. 🎵

Endless Summer.

From the album Sonus Aestatis.

Some summers never really end.

Endless Summer is a nostalgic look back at the days when happiness didn’t cost a thing. Hanging out on neighborhood benches, cheap drinks with friends, old cassette tapes, afternoons by the pool, and that unforgettable feeling of your first crush. It captures a time when the world seemed endless, every sunset promised another adventure, and tomorrow never felt far away.

The song celebrates youth—not because life was perfect, but because everything felt possible. Even with very little, those moments made us feel richer than anything money could buy.

Whether it reminds you of your hometown, your first kiss, lifelong friends, or the soundtrack of your teenage years, Endless Summer is about the memories that stay with us long after the season is over.

Sometimes, the places change. The people change. But the feeling never does.

Measured by Age

Measured by Age is one of the most personal songs I’ve written.

It’s about two people whose love was judged by numbers instead of by what they truly felt for each other. While others focused on age, they saw honesty, kindness, and a connection that couldn’t be explained. Sometimes the strongest relationships are the ones the world refuses to understand.

This song isn’t about proving anyone wrong—it’s about remembering a love that was real, even if it couldn’t survive the opinions and expectations of others. It’s about looking back on something beautiful, knowing that what mattered most was never measured by years.

Please Don’t Leave is a heartfelt pop-rock ballad about first love, unforgettable summer nights, and the memories that never truly fade. Inspired by the innocence of young romance, the song captures that painful moment when someone who once meant everything suddenly becomes a memory.

Blending nostalgic melodies with emotional storytelling, Please Don’t Leave reflects on a time when love felt endless, every sunset promised tomorrow, and one favorite song could bring an entire summer rushing back. As the years pass, some memories grow quieter—but they never disappear.

With its soaring chorus and timeless atmosphere, Please Don’t Leave is a reminder that while first love may not last forever, the feelings it leaves behind often do.

Written by DM Sonus, this single is part of the Sonus Aestatis collection—a celebration of youth, love, nostalgia, and the unforgettable soundtrack of summer.

Summer Rain is a nostalgic journey through memory, distance, and the enduring power of love. Inspired by the feeling of warm summer rain after a long, hot day, the song reflects on the people and places that continue to live within us no matter how far life takes us.

At its heart, Summer Rain is about connection — to family, to home, to childhood, and to the memories that shape who we become. The rain serves as a metaphor for love and comfort, washing over the narrator’s soul and bringing healing, reflection, and a sense of belonging.

The lyrics travel across continents and highways, exploring the idea that home is not always a place, but a feeling carried within us. Even after years have passed, certain memories remain vivid: the warmth of loved ones, the scent of rain on hot pavement, and the bittersweet joy of remembering where we came from.

Musically, Summer Rain blends heartfelt storytelling with a soaring, emotional chorus that captures both longing and gratitude. It is a song about looking back without regret, finding strength in memories, and discovering that some bonds can never be broken by time or distance.

“Sometimes summer rain reminds us what we still call home.”

We Rise Tonight is an electrifying rock anthem about resilience, unity, and the unstoppable spirit that emerges when people refuse to back down. Driven by powerful guitars, soaring melodies, and an arena-sized chorus, the song captures the energy of standing together, breaking through barriers, and finding the courage to rise above adversity.

With its rallying call of “We Rise Tonight,” the track celebrates determination, strength, and the belief that no obstacle is too great when hearts and voices come together. Built for loud speakers, open roads, and unforgettable live moments, this is a song for anyone ready to stand their ground, raise their voice, and embrace the moment.

We Rise Tonight is a powerful reminder that the greatest victories belong to those who refuse to give up.

“Fifty (Can’t Slow Down)” is one of the most personal tracks released by DM Sonus — a fast-moving, emotionally charged anthem about life, memory, survival, and refusing to lose your fire with age.

Blending 80s-inspired rock energy with modern dark synth and industrial rock influences, the song drives through decades of memories like headlights cutting through the night. From growing up in Košice to building a new life in San Antonio, the lyrics reflect heartbreak, friendship, fatherhood, fitness, music, loss, and the relentless passage of time.

The speeding car throughout the song and video symbolizes how quickly life moves — one moment you’re a teenager listening to cassette tapes and dreaming under city lights, the next you’re looking back at half a century of victories, scars, and lessons.

But this isn’t a song about slowing down. It’s about still chasing dreams at 2AM. Still creating. Still fighting. Still becoming.

“Fifty (Can’t Slow Down)” captures the spirit of someone who has been knocked down by life many times but refuses to lose his soul, his passion, or his love for rock and roll.
